Life Lately

Well, the last few weeks have been crazy, but also wonderful. So many fun things have happened.

Best of all, I got married! It was a perfect day- July 11. We got married in the Draper temple, Josh's grandpa was able to marry us and it was wonderful.  It was really great to see all the details we've been working on for so long come together. And as far as I know, everything went really smoothly. One of the highlights of the day was the Prime Time Real Estate (Josh's band) performance at the reception. Josh is still kind of amazed that we talked him into rapping at his wedding, but everyone loved it.

Look for more details about the wedding in upcoming posts.

We went on a week long honeymoon up in the mountains at The Lodge at Stillwater. It was a great week and we had a lot of fun.

Our first dinner as a married couple. Isn't it cute?

Speaking of dinner, we were given a very generous wedding gift to a fancy restaurant in Park City, the Riverhorse on Main. It was delicious. I had the red trout and Josh got the wild game trio- buffalo, elk, and venison. Thanks Ken and Kelly!

After our honeymoon, we headed off to New York and Boston with my parents and youngest brother, to visit my family and friends back there. We were able to see lots of people, which was definitely the highlight of the trip. We also managed to squeeze in two baseball games, a trip to the Museum of Modern Art, a stroll through Manhattan, a tour of Harvard, a beach day on Cape Cod, a post-wedding photo shoot, chopped down a tree and trimmed a hedge so well that my grandparents' neighbor wanted to hire us. Pretty successful vacation, in my books.

Immediately after our plane landed in Utah, Josh and I headed up to Rexburg for my friend's wedding. We arrived at the Rexburg temple with minutes to spare and despite Josh forgetting his recommend in Utah, we were both made it into the sealing. It was a beautiful wedding, and it was so nice to be able to listen to the sealing ceremony again after participating in it just a few weeks earlier. To be able to look at my husband and think about all the good things ahead of us, it was a very sweet experience.

We had planned to move into our own apartment once we got back to Utah, but when we got back from the wedding, we discovered that none of the apartments we'd been hoping to get were available. And thus began a semi-frantic, very stressful hunt for an apartment, which thankfully ended after only three days. I don't know if y'all are familiar with the married student housing market in Provo, but it can be pretty difficult. But we got very lucky and have found a nice little apartment so we'll be moving in a couple weeks. Until then we're staying at Josh's parent's house, and enjoying the newest addition to the family- a kitten named Suki.

So it's been a great few weeks, and a crazy few weeks. We got married, we've gone on several trips, and we've been homeless. But we've been having a great time together. With each day that goes by, I feel more and more confident that marrying Josh Brewer was the best decision I've ever made. I've loved being with him, and adventuring with him, and I'm excited for all the adventures that are still to come for us.
