What's In A Name?

So, you may have noticed that I've changed the name of my blog. While I love the old name- The Alternate Life of Th.Jefferson- I didn't feel like it fit my blog anymore. For awhile now I've been wanting to spend more time on this blog, and so I felt I needed a new name to match my new ideas.

It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted the new name to be. I knew what I wanted the blog to be about. I still wanted to do lots of outfit posts and fashion posts, but I had all these other ideas for things to post about, and they were all over the place. It was hard to come up with a name that encompassed all those types of ideas,

So I've been doing a lot of thinking about why I like blogging and what I'm trying to give to people who read my blog, and ultimately what I came up with was this- I want to help people live a life that reflects their unique style and makes them happy, and emphasize that a person does not need a million dollars to do that.

I love reading other fashion, beauty, and lifestyles blogs. I get so much inspiration from them. But it's always so frustrating to see someone wearing a gorgeous dress, and then scroll down and find out it's $150. I didn't want to be a blogger like that. Not that there's anything wrong with owning or buying or blogging about $150 dresses, but doing that makes the posts less useful to a lot of people. I want to make sure that what I post here can apply to anybody who may stumble on this blog.

There are so many different voices and opinions out there on how a person should live their life. By sharing my way of living, I hope I give you ideas and inspiration for your own life. But I also hope it encourages you to make your own life a little more individual and a little less like whatever is popular at the moment. There are so many things we could spend our time and money on, and I know I'm guilty of trying to do (and be) too much. Sometimes less is more. Or, more simply, less makes you more happy than more. You know, that whole quality over quantity thing.

So that's where Life, Less, Lovely comes from. From an attempt to live my life in an individual, inexpensive way, and share it to (hopefully!) help you do the same.
