January Favorites

2016 has been really great so far, although it's already going by incredibly quickly. Here's some of the things I've been loving this month.

Makeup

Blistex Fruit Smoothies in Orange Cream - This has been my lifesaver this winter. The air is so cold and dry that my lips are constantly in need of chapstick , and this chapstick is great at doing the job. And the smell is so good it makes me excited every time I use it.
Maybelline the Rock Nudes- I already have the other two nude palettes Maybelline does, but when I saw this one, I knew that I needed to complete my collection. This is the perfect palette for a night out, especially for me, since I like smokey eyes, but these colors aren't crazy intense. So it's dramatic, but not overdramatic.
Flower perfume in Cherished and Sultry- I've never really used perfume in the past, but I've been wanting to get some, and these are perfect. They come in normal perfume bottles or little roller on tubes, which is what I bought. I like the roller-ball because it's easy to apply and the tubes are small enough to carry around. The scents are nice, and it lasts all day.
e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Mulberry Maven  - Lately, I've been wanting a lip color that a little darker than my natural lip, but not super dark like some of the lipsticks I own. This has been the perfect in between shade. It adds a little color without being super noticeable.
Rimmel lipstick in Nude Delight- This has been my other favorite lipstick lately, for when I want to go the opposite direction of a dark lip. This is a great nude color, and the lipstick is really moisturizing, which has been great for my poor chapped lips.

Podcasts

This American Life- This has long been my favorite, and I've been reaching for it even more lately. Whenever I'm cooking or cleaning, I tend to turn this one. I love the variety of topics this podcast covers, and their ability to find ordinary people with interesting stories. It's thought provoking, informative, and funny.
Serial - Highly addictive, but so good. Serial goes into detail of one story, covering one story per season. This season they're telling the story of the American solider who was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan. It's really crazy to hear about his experience. Serial does a great job of covering everyone's side of the story, so you get a clear picture of the situation.

Music

Fashion

Red vans- I've been looking for a pair of sneakers, but I didn't want them to be too athletic looking. These are suede, and they're perfect. I love them because I can dress them up or down.
Black and white sweater- So cozy, and a great pattern. It goes with practically everything, so it's my go to in the morning when I feel like I have nothing to wear.
Under armor pants- So warm and comfortable, they're all I've been wearing when I'm just staying around the house.
