July Favorites

I've tried lots of new stuff this month, especially makeup, so I have lots of new favorites to share!

treStiQue Highlight Stick- I discovered highlighters this month, and I've already got two favorites. This one gives a beautiful cool sheen, and because it's a stick it's super easy to apply.
Becca Highlighter in Champagne Pop- This highlighter is a slightly warmer tone, perfect for summer.
e.l.f. Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky- I love baked blushes and bronzers, and this one is a great peachy color.
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in 4- I was skeptical of buying a high-end eyebrow pencil, how much better could it really be than the much cheaper drugstore versions? But I am totally converted. This pencil makes my eyebrows look so much better because it's so easy to control.
Benefit Gimme Brow in 5- This brow gel is also just as good as the brow pencil. It helps keep my very unruly brows in place.
YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara- This is a great mascara, especially for lower lashes. It really separates the lashes but doesn't weigh down lashes.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Ibiza- This is a pretty bright coral red, with a great consistency. And it will last forever.

Denim vest- This is a great casual piece and I've been loving throwing it over dresses and with skirts to make the oufit more casual.
Metallic sandals- These are such a fun sandal, they add a shiny element to an outfit. And they're super comfortable.
Red kimono cardigan- I love the long, brightly patterned cardigans that are all over the place right now. I bought this one a year ago at JcPenny, but Forever 21 and H&M have great options right now. It makes an outfit so interesting and it's somehow cooling to have a light fabric to throw on.

The Thoughtful Dresser by Linda Grant - Now that I've got a break from school, I actually have time to read for fun! And I'm loving this book. The author explores the power of clothes and why they're so important. I have sometimes felt guilty about the amount of attention I give to clothes, but this book has made me realize it's not as vain and trivial an interest as some make it out to be.
Here's my favorite quote:
"The purpose of this book is to explore what is already known but rarely thought about by the ordinary mass of humanity who is interested in fashion and might, quite wrongly, feel a little ashamed of this passion. That in announcing the preoccupation they will have confessed that women are not really fully grown up; unlike our male counterparts, who have mature and adult preoccupations, such as moving balls from one of a grassy field to the other."

Let me know what your favorites have been, I'm always looking for new things to try!
