If you're anything like me, you've probably been seeing a lot of friends on Facebook and Instagram raving about this lip product that's not supposed to wear off no matter what you do. It's called Lipsense. After seeing so much convincing evidence, and my husband complaining every time I got lipstick on him, I decided to try it out.

I've tried out three different colors so far.

This is the shade Plum. It's a berry, purplish red color. I think it's a really great Fall color. I've found this one can be a little tricky to apply. It can end up a little lighter in some places than others, so it takes a little evening out. I typically end up applying 4 layers of this, because that gives a really nice deep color. I could apply less and get a lighter red color, but at the moment I prefer it darker.

This is Praline Rose, which is a gorgeous neutral pink color. It's just a shade darker than my natural lip color. It's a great color for days when I want to add some color to my lips, but don't want a bold statement look.

This last one is Bombshell. It's a great neutral, a light pinky peach color. It's also a little sparkley, which gives it a little extra shine. This is the color that I could wear every single day.  It goes with everything, and is such a great neutral.

With all these colors I wear the Glossy Gloss. It's a really moisturizing gloss, and it gives a lot of shine to the lips. I have to reapply the gloss every hour or two, depending on how much I've been eating/drinking. The lip colors really do stay on all day without any fading. It's rare that I have to do any touch ups.

It took me a few times to get used to using Lipsense, since it's very different from any other lip product I've tried. I've found following these rules really makes all the difference.
1. Make sure your lips are moisturized and exfoliated- I have always had really chapped, dry lips, and when I try to apply Lipsense when my lips are chapped, it's hard to apply, and the color flakes off quickly. So I make sure to exfoliate my lips in the morning before putting any lipsense on, and I try to consistently apply Glossy Gloss throughout the day to keep my lips from drying out.
2. Follow correct application techniques- There is a correct and incorrect way to apply Lipsense, which I didn't realize the first time I tried it. I figured it would be like any other lip gloss, so I just swiped it back and forth all over my lips, and I was really disappointed with the result. That's because Lipsense is applied differently. It's best to only swipe a thin layer on, making sure to just go one direction. I found this tutorial really helpful.

As long as I've done those things, I've been really happy with the lasting power of the colors. It takes a little practice and time to learn to apply it correctly, but the long lasting power makes it worth the extra effort in the application.

Lipsense is sold through representatives, and I have a lot of friends who sell it. So if you're interested, here's a few people you can get it from.

  1. I am with you! I am addicted now! I have 6 different colors, and 3 different glosses. I love it because I talk and drink so much that regular lipstick wears off fast. I do agree that the application takes some practice but I am getting better!
